About The Deaths Archive
The Deaths Archive is an independent international reference database of notable people who have died throughout history. It is organized by year, month, exact date, occupation and country, and is designed as a long-term digital archive rather than a news site.
The archive is database-driven: every record is stored as structured data with source attribution, and the website is the presentation layer over that data. The system is built to grow continuously as new years and people are added, without requiring manual redesign.
Independence
The Deaths Archive is an independent informational archive. It is not affiliated with Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation. Information may originate from Wikipedia/Wikimedia and other sources under their applicable licenses, with attribution provided where required.
No AI at Runtime
The production website does not use artificial intelligence or large language models as a runtime dependency. Search, filtering, statistics, Wikipedia synchronization and all other functionality are implemented with deterministic programming, database queries and scheduled backend jobs. The site continues to function fully if all AI services are unavailable.
Accuracy & Corrections
We do not invent missing data. Where information is unavailable it is left blank or shown as “Not available”. When sources conflict, both are retained and the record is flagged for review. Readers can report errors from any person page.
